WHY GROWERS CHOOSE THIS FORMULA

โš–๏ธ Perfect 8-15-36 Ratio

Engineered specifically for leafy tissues. High Potassium (36%) ensures crispness and shelf-life, while moderate Nitrogen (8%) prevents leggy, weak growth.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ 100% Chelated Micros

Iron, Manganese, Zinc, and Copper are protected by EDTA chelation. This prevents nutrient lockout in high pH water, ensuring your plants actually absorb what you feed them.

๐Ÿšซ Heavy Metal Free

We test every batch to ensure zero heavy metals. When you're growing food for your family or customers, purity is not optional.

๐ŸŒŠ Instant Solubility

Dissolves fully in cold water with no residue. Safe for drip lines, aeroponics (clog-free), and fine mist foliar sprayers.

SCIENCE BEHIND THE FORMULA

Understanding why our 8-15-36 formula works so well for leafy greens requires looking at the unique nutritional demands of these crops throughout their growth cycle.

Why Moderate Nitrogen (8%)?

Leafy greens need sufficient nitrogen for chlorophyll production and leaf development, but too much creates problems:

  • Overly succulent tissues prone to disease
  • Reduced shelf life and poor shipping quality
  • Bitter flavors and compromised texture
  • Increased nitrate accumulation in leaves

Why Enhanced Phosphorus (15%)?

Phosphorus is critical for leafy greens because it:

  • Develops strong, efficient root systems for nutrient uptake
  • Enables rapid ATP production for cellular energy
  • Supports photosynthesis and sugar transport
  • Promotes early establishment and faster maturity

Why Very High Potassium (36%)?

Leafy greens are heavy potassium feeders. This essential nutrient:

  • Regulates stomatal function and water use efficiency
  • Activates over 60 enzyme systems
  • Strengthens cell walls for crisp texture
  • Enhances disease resistance, especially to fungal infections
  • Improves cold tolerance and stress resistance
  • Extends post-harvest shelf life significantly

๐Ÿฅฌ Crisp Texture

Strengthens cell walls for that perfect crunch consumers expect in quality lettuce

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Disease Resistance

Reduces susceptibility to tip burn, downy mildew, and bacterial leaf spot

๐Ÿƒ Enhanced Flavor

Improves sugar content and reduces bitterness for better taste profiles

๐Ÿ“ฆ Extended Shelf Life

Maintains freshness longer, reducing waste and improving marketability

๐Ÿ’ง Water Efficiency

Improves stomatal control and drought tolerance for consistent growth

๐ŸŒก๏ธ Stress Tolerance

Helps plants cope with temperature fluctuations and environmental stress

โš ๏ธ Tip Burn: Know the Signs

๐Ÿฅฌ
โœ“ Healthy Lettuce
  • Uniform green color
  • Crisp, intact leaf margins
  • Strong cell structure
  • Extended shelf life
๐Ÿฅ€
โœ— Tip Burn Damage
  • Brown, necrotic leaf edges
  • Starts at leaf tips/margins
  • Calcium transport failure
  • Unmarketable produce
Prevention: Our 8-15-36 formula helps prevent tip burn through moderate nitrogen (reduces rapid growth), high potassium (improves calcium transport), and balanced nutrition. Supplement with Cal-Mag Plus for complete protection.

๐Ÿ“Š Plant Density Note: Our hydroponic calculations assume approximately 1.2 plants per gallon of reservoir capacity for leafy greens. For example:
  • 10-gallon system = ~12 plants
  • 25-gallon system = ~30 plants
  • 50-gallon system = ~60 plants
  • 100-gallon system = ~120 plants
Adjust based on mature plant size - baby leaf production can support higher densities.

COMPLETE MICRONUTRIENT PROFILE

Our formula includes all essential micronutrients in optimal ratios for leafy greens:

Micronutrient Form Function in Leafy Greens
Iron (Fe) 0.10% Chelated EDTA Chlorophyll production, prevents yellowing
Manganese (Mn) 0.05% Chelated EDTA Photosynthesis, disease resistance
Zinc (Zn) 0.05% Chelated EDTA Growth hormones, leaf development
Copper (Cu) 0.05% Chelated EDTA Enzyme activation, lignin synthesis
Boron (B) 0.02% Boric Acid Cell wall strength, calcium uptake
Molybdenum (Mo) 0.0005% Sodium Molybdate Nitrogen metabolism, enzyme function
Chelated Iron (Fe) - 0.10%
Essential for chlorophyll synthesis and photosynthesis. Chelated form ensures availability even in alkaline conditions. Prevents interveinal chlorosis (yellowing between leaf veins) that reduces market value.
Chelated Manganese (Mn) - 0.05%
Activates enzymes involved in photosynthesis and chlorophyll formation. Critical for disease resistance and maintaining deep green color that consumers associate with freshness.
Chelated Zinc (Zn) - 0.05%
Required for auxin production and protein synthesis. Zinc deficiency causes stunted growth and reduces leaf size - critical issues for leafy green production.
Chelated Copper (Cu) - 0.05%
Involved in lignin synthesis for strong cell walls and disease resistance. Also important for enzyme function and maintaining plant structural integrity.
Boron (B) - 0.02%
Critical for cell wall formation and calcium utilization. Boron deficiency causes tip burn in lettuce and poor leaf development in all leafy greens.
Molybdenum (Mo) - 0.0005%
Essential for nitrate reduction and nitrogen metabolism. Though needed in tiny amounts, deficiency causes yellowing and poor growth in leafy vegetables.

DOCUMENTS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q Why is the Potassium (36%) so high?

Leafy greens consist largely of water. Potassium is the "regulator" nutrient that controls water pressure inside plant cells (turgor pressure).

The 36% Potassium delivers:

  • Thicker cell walls (The "Crunch")
  • Resistance to wilting under grow lights
  • Significantly longer shelf life after harvest
Q What pH should I maintain for lettuce?

Lettuce is sensitive to pH. If the pH is too high, iron locks out (yellow leaves). If too low, calcium locks out (tip burn).

5.0 5.5 5.8 - 6.2 โœ“ 6.5 7.0
โ† Too Acidic (Ca lockout) | SWEET SPOT | Too Alkaline (Fe lockout) โ†’
๐ŸŽฏ The Sweet Spot: Keep your pH between 5.8 and 6.2 for maximum nutrient uptake in hydroponics. In soil, 6.0-6.5 is ideal.
Q Will this fix "Tip Burn" on my lettuce?

Tip burn is a calcium transport issue. While this fertilizer facilitates calcium movement, it does not contain Calcium (as it reacts with phosphates in the bag).

The Solution: You must use this product with Cal-Mag Plus. The combination ensures rapid new growth is strong and burn-free.

Q Can I use this for baby leaf and microgreen production?

Absolutely! Adjust concentration based on crop maturity:

Baby Leaf (3-4 weeks to harvest):

  • Use at 50-75% of standard concentration
  • Apply every 5-7 days
  • Target EC: 0.8-1.2

Microgreens (7-14 days to harvest):

  • Use at 25% concentration after cotyledons emerge
  • Single application usually sufficient
  • Target EC: 0.4-0.6
Q How do I store the powder?

Our fertilizer is highly hygroscopic (it absorbs moisture from the air). To prevent clumping:

  1. Keep the bag sealed tight between uses
  2. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight
  3. If it clumps, simply break it up โ€” the efficacy is not affected
