MAP 11-52-0 (this product) is a granular form designed for direct soil application. It provides controlled, season-long phosphorus release and is ideal for broadcasting, side dressing, and pre-plant incorporation. It is NOT water-soluble.

MAP 12-61-0 is a 100% water-soluble powder with 61% phosphorus. It's designed for fertigation, foliar feeding, and hydroponic systems where immediate nutrient availability is needed.

Choose 11-52-0 when you need economical soil application with controlled release. Choose 12-61-0 when you need water-soluble phosphorus for liquid feeding systems.

Side dressing: Create a shallow furrow 4-6 inches from plant stems, distribute granules evenly, cover with soil, and water thoroughly.

Broadcasting: Use a broadcast spreader for even distribution, apply when soil is dry, till or rake into the top 4-6 inches, and water immediately.

Tree/shrub application: Spread evenly in a circle at the drip line (canopy edge), keep 6 inches away from the trunk, lightly scratch into soil, and water deeply.

Yes. The ammoniacal nitrogen in MAP has an acidifying effect on soil. This is beneficial in alkaline soils where high pH locks out phosphorus and micronutrients. However, in already acidic soils (below pH 6.0), monitor pH and consider periodic liming if needed. A soil test before application is always recommended.
