Taking a bath using only Epsom salt has its health advantages, but adding things like essential oils, herbs or sea salt can boost the healing properties of the epsom salt bath in different ways.

Below are five epsom salt bath recipes for different ailments to support your health and wellbeing.

Important Note: Do NOT add essential oils directly to water. You must dilute the essential oil in a carrier oil (one tablespoon or 15 ml) first to avoid burning sensations or skin irritation.

For dilution precautions and recommendations specific to the essential oil you wish to use, please visit the corresponding product page for that essential oil prior to adding it to your bath.

This will ensure you keep your safety in mind as you are using these products at your own risk and we cannot be responsible for any adverse effects.

With that said, let's dive into some awesome and healing epsom salt bath recipes.

      1. Epsom Salt Bath for Bloating

      • 1-2 cups Epsom Salt
      • 1 cup Sea Salt
      • 3 tbsp. ginger powder

      2. Epsom Salt Bath for Arthritis

      Lemongrass Oil Precautions:

      • Is a skin sensitizer and may cause skin irritation.
      • Unlike most other essential oils, which should be diluted to 2.5% before being applied to the skin, lemongrass should be diluted to no more than 0.7%.

      3. Epsom Salt Bath for Better Sleep

      Lavender Oil Precautions:

It is one of the few essential oils that can be applied neat (no dilution necessary) though we still highly recommend diluting in carrier oil just to be safe.

        4. Epsom Salt Bath For Eczema

        • 1-2 cups Epsom salt
        • 1/2 cup of oatmeal (whole oats blended in a food processor or blender)

         Geranium Oil Precautions:

        • Do not exceed 1.5% concentration in vegetable oil for topical use.
        • Avoid frequent topical use.
        • Do not use on damaged, sensitive or irritated skin.

          5. Epsom Salt Bath to Detox
          • 1-2 cups Epsom salt
          • 1/2 cup sea salt
          • 1 cup baking soda
          Eucalyptus Oil Precautions:
          • Generally non-toxic and non-irritant for adults when used externally and in proper dilution.
          • Never use internally.
          • This essential oil should not be used on or near the faces of babies or children younger than 10 years of age.
