5 Simple Ways to Be Healthier in 2020
Posted on January 08 2020
For many, the New Year offers a chance to reflect on one's habits and hit the reset button. Bettering one's health is one of the most common resolutions to make, whether it's losing weight, exercising more or eating a wholesome diet.
While you may set off on your 2020 health journey with good intentions, it’s easy to get caught up with fad diets and quick fixes to improve your health. The thing is, there is not a one step approach to becoming a healthier version of yourself and this will certainly not happen overnight, but don't let this discourage you.
Taking smaller steps towards a larger goal can make achieving results manageable and more possible. Below are five smaller goals you can easily incorporate into your daily wellness routine if your aim is to be healthier this year.
1. Take High Quality Supplements
One of the best ways to boost your health is by consuming supplements. These products can provide microminerals or vitamins that your diet may not provide enough of.
Our Magnesium Chloride USP, for example, is an excellent source of magnesium. Meanwhile, replenish your sulfur stores with our MSM Powder. Together, these supplements can provide you with key nutrients lacking in our food so your body can function better, leading to a healthier, more radiant you.
2. Prioritize Self Care
Self-care may seem like just another buzz word, but it’s a practice that truly does matter and making time for it can drastically change how you feel. Self-care is anything we intentionally do to look after ourselves physically, emotionally and mentally.
These activities can include a relaxing bath in our Magnesium Chloride Flakes or Epsom salt, making time to practice your favorite hobby, showing your skin some love with our Bee-tanical Body Balm or watching your favorite movie.
As long as you’re doing something that brings you joy and peace, you’re on the right track.
3. Limit Screen Time
In the technology filled world we live in, it’s not uncommon to find yourself staring at a computer, tv or phone screen for the majority of your day. However, what most aren’t aware of is that an increase in using digital screens may lead to blurred vision, eye strain and other long-term vision problems.
A great way to combat this issue is by limiting the amount of time you spend in front of a screen. You can do so by setting smaller goals that prevent you from spending a large portion of time in the digital world.
For example, telling yourself you can only spend 10 minutes on our Instagram feed every day (wink, wink) or refusing to watch tv during dinner time.
4. Grow Your Own Food
It goes without saying that we support self-grown food. This environmentally friendly practice reduces your carbon footprint, increases your awareness of the nutrition your plants provide you and gives you peace of mind knowing your produce is pesticide free and at its freshest!
Our eco-friendly and heavy metal free fertilizers can help you grow at your best.
5. Get Outside
We wouldn't be Greenway Biotech without encouraging you to get up and outside whenever possible. Going for a five minute walk on your lunch break, for instance, can make a big difference over time.
Our main priority is to advocate for an overall healthy lifestyle in any way possible - whether that's eating healthier, growing a garden, exercising regularly or following these five tips.
We hope you've found these suggestions helpful and wish you nothing but success as you set out to achieve your wellness goals this year. Know that we're always happy to help with that. Live green, live well.
