Blood Meal 13-0-0 FAQ

1. What are the Nitrogen (N), Phosphorous (P), and Potassium (K) ratios for Blood Meal fertilizer?

The three numbers after each fertilizer indicate percentages of Nitrogen (N), Phosphorous (P), and Potassium (K).

Greenway Biotech, Inc. Blood Meal fertilizer 13-0-0 contains 13% Nitrogen (N) and no Phosphorous (P) or Potassium (K).

2. What is the difference between Organic and non-Organic Blood Meal?

There are two ways we can answer that question. First, what's legally organic and second what's actually organic.

Any fertilizer could be registered as organic and there are certain criteria and requirements that you need to follow to register a fertilizer to be organic and it is different for every state.

There are also some non-profit organizations such as OMRI that certify products to be used in organic gardening.

However, for a product to be truly organic it means there shouldn't be any genetically modified organisms involved whatsoever, which is a little hard since some people believe we don't really have any thing that's actually 100% non-GMP and over the years everything has been modified to some extent.

In this case, Blood Meal fertilizer is truly organic only if the source of the blood (cows, pigs, etc.) was raised and fed organically.

3. Can I make a spray solution using Blood Meal to spray my garden perimeter to keep deers away?

Blood Meal is not 100% water soluble so you can't really make a solution. Also, we recommend just spreading it around your garden to use it as deer repellent.

The smell of Blood Meal is what keeps the deers away and trying to dissolve it in water will reduce that smell and won't work as proper.
